Introduction

I will be writing on this blog for the rest of the 2011 year for my Computing and the Arts class. When thinking of computing and arts, I think mainly of electronics and technology being utilized to create art. Now this might not be an 100% accurate definition, but I believe it gives a general and understandable sense of the nature of this course and topic. We see many applications of this in todays world, whether it be video games, electronic music, or digital art, the results are endless as technology continues to advance.

I picked this class because of my interest in both words of "computing" and "arts." I've always been interested in computers and electronics and find their interactiveness fascinating and intriguing. Also, I get enjoyment when seeing things that are aesthetically-pleasing and appreciate many different types of art. In high school I was introduced to Computing and the Arts after taking a digital art and later a photography class, which I became familiar with Photoshop and learned to create unique art from a mouse and keyboard as well as manipulating pictures with the program's features. These classes revealed to me the scale of art and technology and made me realize the multitude of applications where we see these two subjects combined.

As the semester progresses, I will be posting about things we learned in class or multimedia that gives the impression of computing and arts. I will post videos, pictures, links to whatever happens to spark my interest and relate to the course and provide input as well. I will let the media do most of the speaking itself.

Thanks for your time.
